The Beach

As the Title says… The Beach. We found it! NO TOURISTS! NO ONE ELSE!

but first yesterday.

Yesterday i was going to discover the Island on my own again. Which was very nice because i like it to just stop everywhere i see places i like to visit. So i can move more free and don't have to look for others which is good sometimes.

As said, i discovered the not so crowded Eastside of the Island, first stop i made was at a Temple Place with a beautiful view on a River:

Nice colour, isn't it?

After that i head more southwards, there was a sign on the Road that they are selling houses.. Hm.. lets check that out!

What i found was a empty “village” of brand new houses along the Beach. I felt free to just enter them, so i did.

They sold some pretty decent houses directly on the beach, i could take some rest at a poolside. Look what they are like, for 14 Million Baht its yours.

with your own little piece of Beach (which is a joke in compare with our Beach…) but i could spend some days there!

After some rest i head on south.

Little stop at a very long pier

After like one and a half or two hours of driving the Road stopped. They are just building a ring road around the Island, but its not finished yet, so the last stop was on a little Fisherman Village built into the Mangrove Trees.

My last stop on that day was on the Westside of the Island at a Viewpoint to capture some decent sundown, and i think i did a hell of a job on that one, but decide for your own:

at the end of that day we had a really not so good Indish dish for around 200 Baht, which was totally not worth it, AND! The first two chang beers after 2 weeks of abstinence (yes Helen, 2 WEEKS!). Was great.

Today i decided to go on my own again. So did Frank. At a nice breakfast at our Accommodation i had an idea, ask the nice Hotel staff about a really nice beach without people, they should know something! And they did!

The Husband of the Cook know a place, which is hard to get there because its a long Path through the Jungle (yes, and it was through the fucking jungle indeed!) and there's a BIG beach with nice sand and no People.

This beach supposed to be on the TOP SOUTHERN POINT of the Island, there is no road in the map leading there, its a very hard to find road heading into the Jungle from side road of the Main road. So i decided to take it on me and find that Beach.

This is the great thing about non package travelling, your totally on your own, you can do whatever you feel like, you can spend a night in the jungle if u want and nobody would care, your just free to do whatever u want to do. I love it.

So i made my way after a decent breakfast, and half way to the south, who's standing there at the side of the road? FRANK! He was searching a nice Place to hang out for the Day too, so i tell him about my Plan, he totally agreed and jumped on the Train, so we made our way to the South.

After an hour of driving or so we ended up at a dead end, we gone to far, so we asked a Woman of a restaurant about the way. We turned back and took a very bad road into the jungle, which was the wrong one, we recognized that after 10 minutes driving 90° hills.

Turned back again, asked again, finally got on the right road! Yey! It was a half hour ride through the jungle, we had to ride through some dried out river bets, and made an actually hard way, but then we could see light in the dark! Through the Palms it was shining, the OCEAN! Without a believe that this is the right place we kept driving until we reached the end of the jungle. HELL WHAT A VIEW WAS THAT!

A totally white beach, at least 2 Kilometres long, totally empty, NO PEOPLE! The feeling was just amazing, we was screaming like YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAA WE DID IT!

But enough of talking I'm going to let some pictures speak. Enjoy.

Totally for us alone. I will cry when i see that photo 5 years later sitting in the office.

But not only that there was i nice beach, this wasn't enough. There was a river in emerald colours going into the land at the end of the beach, which was one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen, CHECK THAT OUT!

Soo yes.. We found our THE BEACH. It was the best Thailand has to offer so far. Will be hard to top that. Tomorrow we go there again EARLY, take some Barbeque stuff with us, do a fire, catch some coconuts from the trees and have a decent meal and another day there Smiley

I hope i could serve u some nice Photos, i always try to share the nicest impressions. Its hard to bring over the feeling u have when u actually stand there yourself, but its a bit of a look into that how it is Smiley

I wish u a nice Time and hear you soon, i will enjoy few more Days on Chang (Koh Chang not Beer Chang Helen) and will give an update first from Cambodia i think.

Kop Kun Khrap for reading.

  1. Schön, dass du dem Elefanten ein Taschentuch um den Rüssel gebunden hast. Bei dem Wind hat der bestimmt oft Schnupfen und kann es gut gebrauchen ;-)
