Hello,
quite a Time has passed since my last entry, but its quite exhausting to Travel, so someday u just come back to your Hotel and fall into bed, don't feel like doing Blog entries or whatever anymore. And on top i got like a very bad stomach over the last 3 Days, spending 1 complete Day in bed with fever. Now I'm feeling better… anyways…
On the last Day in Chiang Mai we went to the Doi Suthep Temple in the Mountain area of Chiang Mai. I met Tabea (http://tabeainsea.wordpress.com/) in Chiang Mai, we already knew each other from Facebook before we were leaving Germany and on a coincidence we met in Chiang Mai pretty early on our Trip and we went there together.
The Temple just was massively overcrowded, it was weekend and there was ALOT of People everywhere, which a bit destroyed the atmosphere so we decided to drive a bit more far to visit some other village but overall the Doi Suthep Trip was not that good at all. Il share some Pictures of that below
the view of an viewpoint on the way on Top. At these days its always dusty in the North which makes it hard to take good pictures, u will see that later on the Pictures of Pai again.
i always like the colour of this trees.
some Monks, and tourists…
dancing People
Bwaaaaarrgghlll
Jade Buddha
really nice feeling floor on barefoot!
Well, i didn't feel like taking much pictures of the Temple with heaps of tourists on it so we decided to skip the suthep experience pretty early.
So change of Plans, “There's an Elephant Camp on the Map, pretty far away, but we got time, go for it!” which was probably the best decision of the day… Well, after Hours of driving we didn't find the f****** elephant Camp, but we found something MUCH better! Very nice Places and little villages, and all of a sudden, a little town FULL OF ELEPHANTS! They were just working there, like u see it on TV, really nice experience! Much better then the elephant Camp! But ill let some Pictures of our road to there and the place itself speak
Mommy and Child elephant.
Gimmeh mooooooooooore fooood!!!!
Lots of em.
Working HARD!
So in the end of the day it was totally worth the Trip. We seen some very nice little Villages i didn't take pictures of as well. On the early Morning of Friday on that week i also visited the Friday Morning Market, where a lot of Burmese and Northern Thai Specialities were sold. I REALLY enjoyed to taste it and just run over the market and smell all those flavours! It was amazing!
On Sunday, my last Day in Chiang Mai i visited the famous Sunday Night Market, it was just HUUUGE! On those Markets, i don't take Pictures at all, because u cant get the feeling into a Photo, and i wanna keep it for myself to be honest.
On Monday morning i was making my way to Pai, a small and sleepy town on top North of Thailand, near the Burmese boarder. Its a very small Hippie town, with a lot of Rasta and old Hippies in there. All very nice People, very nice little Bars to hang out, and i also met Tabea and her friend Jorid again.
It was a VERY bad ride to Pai. The best way to describe PAI and his surroundings is: SHARP CURVES AHEAD! And there are fucking LOTS of curves! I really got a BAD headache on the 3 hours Ride (for 160 Kilometres) a guy also had to throw up. Very bad. On arrival i already felt not so good and just throw my stuff into the Bungalow to get a Motorbike and meet up with Tabea and Jorid to go to the Pai Canyon. First thing i mentioned was the very nice and clean Air in this Area! Felt just GREAT to take a deep breath of fresh air.
Il share some Pictures of the Canyon for you
the fellowship of the canyon –.-
steep cliffs
very nice views on top of the canyon…
After that on the way back we went to visit a Waterfall which looked like that
After that we were going to grab some food which was probably the worst decision of that day. On the Night i started feeling really bad, on the next day i was feeling REALLY bad. So i had fever and a very bad stomach, spent the whole day in bed. Took some medicine, it went better at the Evening but until today, 3 days later, i couldn't really eat something. Now its getting better, anyways, on the next day i decided to visit the surrounding areas of Pai by myself found some really nice places like that
first of all put some fuel into the bike!
amazing Landscape in Pai
amazing huts in Pai!
more huts
a LOT more Huts!
amazingly beautiful landscapes
water Temple thingy
Pai!!!!
Those are just a few impressions, i took a lot more Photos but i couldn't upload them all would take me ages. A think we recognized is, that we are in dry season now. It would be DEFINITLY worth to visit the North again after the rainy seasons. It will be MUCH greener and nicer, nowadays its all dry and grey looking…So there will be a visit in the North again, for sure.
Next day we want to make like a bigger Trip with the Bike, and we were riding about i think at least 150 Kilometres Northwards, very close to the Burmese Boarder, there were lots of Army Checkpoints on the way, which gave us a signal that we are probably close to Burma. That was a very joyful ride which took us the whole day. We visited some really nice small Villages AND you can be sure that even in the most far away Part of the Country on a Cave entry or something, there's always someone who will charge you for visiting the Place. So at a point far away we decided to turn back without paying a charge of 200 baht to visit the fucking cave. Good choice, in my opinion. Il show u some last Pictures from Today
some Hill tribe or whatever People on a lookout
strange Plants
wooof!!!!
that's the sign you are mostly confronted with in the North
go for it!
nice views again. They would be nicer after rain season tho.
more Huts
nice little River
guess what, HUTS!
what a view over there, little hill village. Was very nice.
beautiful river with A LOT of sand flies, we needed to flee because they were eating us alive
for the last Picture i am able to present you a decent sundown over the Pai Mountains!
For tomorrow there's just a little Motorbike ride to the nearer outside of Pai i guess, Tabea needs to leave to Laos at the evening and i will stay maybe until Monday. After that i guess i will rent a Motorbike to drive back to Chiang Mai myself, or i will find a Transport to Chiang Rai or to Nan directly from Pai, but i think i need to go back to Chiang Mai for that. I still got a Month time for my Thai Visa, and I'm not really sure where to go next yet, but as usual, i will make my decisions short. In that sense, i say goodbye again and hope i could make it good for not posting stuff the last days, because THIS took me some time to write today!
So have a good Time and i hope it gets warmer in Europe soon.
All best and special Greetings to Czech
